My previous lawyers never gave me copies of my case. I need the copies now and they are charging me for the copies. Is this legal?

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
Being charged for copies is not the worst fate of a person asking for copies of his or her case. At the risk of appearing callous, we have heard of many situations throughout the years in which consulting companies, other non-lawyers, and even lawyers refuse to give copies of the case whatsoever. Can I travel to India on valid H4 visa without my husband accompanying who has a valid H1B visa and what documents do I need to carry with me?

Answered by attorney Alena Shautsova
Immigration lawyer at Law Offices of Alena Shautsova
You should be able to travel as long as you have a valid visa and your husband still works on H1B. You might want to have proof of his employment with you if you worry.
