Can I get a divorce? Can I get spousal support and child support for our kids after the divorce?

Answered by attorney Mark T. Peters (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Peters Law, PLLC
Of course you are entitled to child support for the children, so long as he is the father. Spousal support in Idaho is a little more dicey. If you are working, probably not. If you have a degree probably not. However, each situation is different and your attorney will be best able to get you what you deserve from the guy who doesn't understand what the term "vow" means.

If my husband quits his job, will he have to stop paying spousal support too?

Most courts would not allow that as an excuse to not pay support. As long as the order is in place, his obligation continues. Talk to an attorney to discuss this issue further and protect your rights.

Can my husband take my animals and cars when I divorce him?

J Matthew Catchick
Answered by attorney J Matthew Catchick (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Catchick Law, P.C.
The general rule in Michigan governing property division is that you are entitled to roughly 50% of the assets that were accumulated during the marriage. If the animals and car were acquired during the marriage, you almost definitely have a claim to them (even if he paid for them).
