Can I continue my divorce settlement without an attorney and can I sue my Ex for this?

Answered by attorney Dennis J Woods (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Woods and O'Keefe
You can do a Motion to Enforce with an attorney and it is often a requirement in the judgment that the person against whom the enforement is sought pays the other's attorney fees. Even if this clause is not in the judgment, if you're destitute and you win, often the judge will award you attorney fees anyway.

Is a spouse's business considered marital property?

Divorce lawyer at Musilli Brennan Associates, PLLC
Generally, a business started or run during marriage is considered part of the marital estate. That said, the devil is always in the details. Engage an attorney.

Married 35 years and getting a divorce. Can we make our spouse sell personal property if it was purchased during the marriage and our money was used?

Answered by attorney J. Allen Fiorletta
Divorce lawyer at The Fiorletta Law Group, PLLC
No, you cannot make the other party sell personal property. With a marriage of this length, you would be well-advised to speak with an attorney to assure that you receive an equitable distribution of the marital assets. For instance, is spousal support going to be awarded? If so, how much and for how long? This one issue alone could account for tens of thousands of dollars over the course of time. Please feel free to reach out to me if you would like to discuss your situation.
