I was accused of something I didn't do and my accuser didn't see the incident happen that I was accused of. Can I file charges for being falsely acc

Answered by attorney Tristan Nicolas Legrande
Criminal Law lawyer at LeGrande Law
If the charges are still pending you can hire a lawyer to represent you on the charges. Even if the charges are eventually dismissed, you are unlikely to succeed on a lawsuit against someone because you believe you are falsely accused. Charges are dismissed in courts every day; but, defendants don't automatically get a right to sue the police or anyone else because they were accused of the crime. That being said, I am certain you can find an attorney to file a lawsuit for you if you pay a retainer fee up front and ongoing hourly legal fees. But its probably not worth it - just worry about fighting your case. Good luck.

Can I own a registered gun although my husband is a convicted felon of drug possession?

Answered by attorney Stephen Lewis Freeborn (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Freeborn Law Offices P.S.
You can own a gun, but until your husband has his right to possess a firearm restored by the court, then he cannot. If you are living in the same home and there is a gun in that home, there could be problems for your husband. Your husband may be eligible to have his right restored. He should consult with an attorney.

How much will it cost to remove a class b misdemeanor off my record?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
No lawyer can guarantee to keep it off your record. Any that does is simply lying to you in order to get you as a client. You will qualify for deferred adjudication if you have a clean record and then if you successfully complete deferred it can be sealed with a Petition for Non-Disclosure. Every lawyer and price are different. Just remember that you get what you pay for, so hire the best lawyer you can afford and fight this.
