Also, it is important to note that, even if you are no longer employed at the job where you were injured, so long as the injury occurred when you were working at that job, the insurance company is responsible for paying the costs for your medications and any treatment, including therapy. I would highly recommend that you not neglect this legal right that you have to payment of your medical expenses, because you never know how expensive the treatment can end up being, particularly into the future. There are specific steps for invoking your benefits under the workers' compensation system, and a workers' compensation attorney will be able to file the appropriate documents, after discussing the accident and the injury with you. Most workers' compensation attorneys do not charge any legal fees at all up-front, and the attorney fees are earned only if the attorney reaches a settlement for compensation in your case, in which case the attorney receives a small portion of the overall settlement.
