I picked up a felony case and called around to several lawyers. This was the only office that called back the same day. The lady I talked to knew what she was talking about and the attorney followed up exactly like she told me. I got a deferred, so I am happy.
Let me start off by saying that this attorneys law firm came recommended to me by another attorney. NOT this attorney. I was told to hire Damian Castillo, but ended up hiring Mr. Scott. My case was the kind of case "the good ol' boys" needed to handle. Its amazing to me Mr. Scott has a bar card. Every aspect of my dealings with Mr. Scott and his law form was terrible. His staff are rude, unprofessional, and just plain neglectful. After retaining Mr. Scott for the hefty sum of $10,000 dollars, a couple of months into it another charge (the exact same charge) was added to my case. I was told I needed to pay 15,000 MORE dollars. I scrapped the bottom of the barrel to come up with the funds, b/c he assured me my case would be resolved in my favor, and his law office already had all my files and were pretty familiar with my case. That was the biggest mistake I ever made, and I learned a hard lesson from it. I was already very unhappy with the treatment I received from the firm, but I was desperate because I had already invested 10,000 dollars into it. He is completely unreachable. For that sum of money I DESERVE to have a cell phone number given to me so I could communicate, but was told "we don't give out cellphone numbers". I have retained other attorneys since then, and are always given cell phone numbers. To make a long story short, 2 years and 25,000 dollars later I was talked into the worst plea bargain for my case. While at the table being convinced by Mr. Scott to take a differed plea with a hefty 10 year community supervision and 7,500 additional dollars in fines, I called my other attorney to ask his opinion on the matter. This is how unconfident I had become in Mr. Scott. My other attorney answers my call immediately, and tells me a differed is a good deal, but to negotiate the terms some more. Mr. Scott is the worst negotiator I have ever seen, he wouldn't even try to get the 10 year community supervision reduced. Lets make a long story short, he will take your money, become unreachable for weeks at a time while he goes on vacation, or just in general, his staff is rude and and incompetent and will drag out your case by continuing it for months for stupid reasons such as, "its my granddaughters birthday, I am going on vacation, no one told me you had a hearing etc. etc. If you have had the misfortune of being assigned to him as your court appointed, hire someone else.
500 characters isn't enough to tell you how bad my wife and I were screwed by Roy L. Scott. Basically charged tons of money, and didn't lift a finger. I had to do all the work, call county attorneys, file paperwork, etc. Wouldn't return phone calls. Ended up costing us tons of money more in the process. Terrible lawyer. Stay far far away. Sorry my explanation isn't very detailed. I only have 500 characters to go with.
