My friend, a client of Sean's told me to call because he did a good job fighting for him so I called and set an appointment for consultation. I was told consultation was $200. Sean sat there for, I don't recall exactly, 3+ hours asking questions about my life story and taking all kinds of notes then told me that he could or he was only interested in helping me with the custody review. I paid the $200 cash. Then his assistant told me what the retainer was and I told his assistant that I did not have that money and would talk to family about helping. I was not able to come up with the money and then I got a bill for the balance of the consultation, $400. At NO part in our conversation did he advise me that the consultation time allotted was up and it was becoming billable time. This is an unfair practice and I am not willing or interested in paying that fee as I was not advised I was getting billed beyond what was quoted to me.
