Traffic violations have no effect on your citizenship eligibility and USCIS does not care about them.

Filing motion to reopen i130 case for parent

Answered by attorney Jan Joseph Bejar
Immigration lawyer at Jan Joseph Bejar A Professional Law Corporation
A motion to reopen is usually granted if the mistake is the government's, as they state on the instructions.  If the priority date is old and worth salvaging, then you can risk the motion to reopen and try to get them to reopen the case.  If the priority date is recent (or if your father is an immediate relative, i.e., father of a US citizen), then your money is better spent on refiling the I-130 properly.  The differnce is $420 vs. $630 (and then possibly having to spend the $420 anyway when they deny your motion to reopen).  The only concern I would have is whether salvaging the original priority date is important, such as preserving §245(i) eligibility, etc.  I cannot determine this without more information.  Hope this helps you.

How do I change status and what is the EAD validity?

Matthew Scott Kriezelman
Answered by attorney Matthew Scott Kriezelman (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Kriezelman Burton & Associates, LLC
You will remain in F-1 status until your I-485 is approved. You should also be receiving a new EAD card based on your pending I-485. A new I-765 should have been filed with the I-485 as it was included in the fee you paid. You can continue to work on that new EAD once you receive it. You should schedule an appointment with an experience immigration practitioner if you wish to learn more about the specific time frames.
