My I130 form was transferred to a local office, what will happen next?

Answered by attorney Yahima Suarez (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Hernandez & Suarez, PL
It is normal for immigration to transfer cases from one office to another. You shall not worry. The process will continue normally. You will be notified when the I-130 is approved and it has been approved, then you will get notice of when your visa is available. If it involves consular processing, at that time the consular processing will commence.

No, past history of drug use and convictions alone would not prevent you from petitioning for your wife and having that petition approved.

If it was just an overstay, chances are good. He might need a waiver, so he should consult with an immigration lawyer before filing anything.
