Can I apply for Naturalization if I am a Permanent resident that commited a felony?

Christine Victoria Troy
Answered by attorney Christine Victoria Troy (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Christine Troy
You really need to make an appointment with a competent immigration attorney specializing in criminal law. I am not able to evaluate your case based on your question. You will want to bring your certified court disposition with the full case history on it to your meeting to have your case analyzed. If you try to naturalize or file for an extension of your card, this issue will arise because they will take your fingerprints so please take care of this now! As a general matter, most felonies will bar you from naturalizing for five years after your probation ends.

How can I prove I entered the country legally?

Answered by attorney Louis M. Piscopo
Immigration lawyer at Law Offices of Louis M. Piscopo, APLC
If you were issued an I-94 when you entered you can file Form I-90 to request a duplicate I-94. Also, you can do Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the USCBP for any records they have showing when and where you entered the U.S. If that does not work and you arrived by plane you can try and obtain information from the airline showing you arrived by plane and at which airport.

Will my ex wife be deported for an expired green card and passport?

Justin Wang
Answered by attorney Justin Wang (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Sheppard Mullin
If her green card is not "conditional", she can just renew it herself. Passport is also her responsibility. She should contact her embassy or consulate to renew or replace her passport. If her green card is conditional, then you have to file it together if you are still married.
