Can I purchase a gun and does the misdemeanor DUI come up on my background check for jobs?

Answered by attorney Lawrence Thomas Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
You can get a gun, because every alcoholic (DUI tells the tale of irresponsible drinking) with no felony is entitled to get drunk, produce the gun and get felony charges. However, the DUI will always appear on your record, which will prevent you from securing a good job, which will cause you to drink, which will lead to the production of the gun and felony charges. Good luck.

If I got a DUI about 15 yrs ago, is that considered a 'Misdemeanor" or "Felony"?

DUIs are most often charged as "gross misdemeanors", not felonies, unless you kill or seriously hurt someone.

Whose car was involved in the accident. IF it is yours, you will be charged. IF it belongs to someone else, like the mystery Samaritan, then you will not be charged.
