Generally settlements of that type are considered separate property they can be considered, however, in making support awards if the settlement will involve a regular monthly payment or be large enough to generate income on a regular basis.

How can I get financial help from my husband who left me if we were together for 25 years?

Why did you leave the house? He cannot make you leave the house if you are married. It doesn't matter whose name is on it. As for your other questions, it sounds as if you are most likely entitled to alimony, but only a judge can force him to support you financially. You need to talk with an attorney.
