Is she entitled to the house after 18 years of marriage and 23 years of living together?

Answered by attorney Anne Barbara Howard (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Anne B. Howard, A Professional Law Corporation
The community probably has an interest in the house. In CA it is a formula based on principal paydown and percentage of appreciation. If you refinanced there are other rules that come into play. See an attorney. The community could have more of an interest than you do alone. You are half the community.

Can my husband cancel my health insurance while we are separated?

He cannot cancel it if you or he have filed for divorce or legal separation, but if nothing has been filed and served, then yes, he can cancel your coverage. I recommend filing and having him served immediately to prevent a lapse in coverage.

Where should I file for divorce if I was married in Mexico and California with the same man?

You should file for divorce where you have residency. In California you must have lived in the state for six months and in your county for at least 3 months.
