Can the cops put out a warrant without filing a report?

Answered by attorney Laurie A. Schmidt
Criminal Law lawyer at 5280 Law Group
If you are going to be charged with a crime, most likely domestic violence related, one of two things will occurr - 1. The cops will try and contact you to get you to make statements to them (don't talk to them, everything you say will be twisted and used against you) 2. The cops will issue an arrest warrant for you. Depending on the jurisdiction you may be able to arrange for a walk through booking process. It does not matter if the officer has or has not finished the police report or if your girlfriend told the cops that she did not want to file a report. If cops were called and they believe a domestic violence occurred, then a report will be generated. During this process, the cops will prepare an arrest warrant, which goes to a judge to sign, once it's signed then it's active in the system within a few days. You can check with the court to see if a warrant has been issued. Then hire a criminal defense attorney to defend you and help you at the bond hearing.

What kind of 2nd degree felony - charges

Answered by attorney Kenneth G. Wincorn
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Offices of Kenneth G. Wincorn & Associates, P.C.
If he is not certified as an adult by the juvenile court this will remain a juvenile case and be handled there. If the fake drug is represented as crack it will be treated as if it was real. Hopefully you and your parents are hiring a lawyer to help. This is a serious legal matter.
