If a victim/accuser is unavailable on the court date (in the hospital) what happens?

It will depend on the D.A. and the court. Under the circumstances described, the court may continue the trial until after the birth of the child.

Are there any laws regarding reporting persons known to have arrest warrant?

Answered by attorney John F Brennan (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Musilli Brennan Associates, PLLC
You have very limited legal duty to report such violations. I would however be concerned regarding the driving without a license and tags, that also probably means without insurance as well, therefore putting the children at risk in case of an accident.

Can my ex girlfriend accuse me of statutory rape from two years ago?

Answered by attorney Terry Alan Nelson (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Nelson & Lawless
She can accuse you of anything, anytime. Whether police will accept a criminal report, and whether the DA will file charges, and whether the statute of limitations has run on any specific crime is a different question. It is up to them what level of evidence they will be satisfied with. Felonies have from one to seven year Statutes of Limitations. Most criminal prosecutions are based primarily upon victim testimony. Whenever threatened, arrested or charged with any crime, what can you do? No amount of free 'tips and hints' from here or anywhere else are going to effectively help you in your defense, other than the advice [if not already too late] is to exercise the 5th Amendment RIGHT to SHUT UP and do NOT talk to police or ANYONE about the details of the case except through an attorney. That includes on this or any other web site or public forum. Most police and prosecutors will happily tell you that 95% of people convict themselves by trying to be 'helpful and cooperative', either during initial contact, questioning, interview or interrogation. Hire an attorney, unless you know how to effectively represent yourself in court against a professional prosecutor intending to convict.
