The military is not going to take you period, because once the probation is terminated, they are going to say it was terminated in order for you to go to the military.

What are my options on a police officer giving my personal property to a third party without my consent to do so and now the property is missing?

Mark A. Broughton
Answered by attorney Mark A. Broughton (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Mark A. Broughton, PC
I suggest you make a claim for the value of the property with the City or County of the police department. As to the shelter, as them as well for the value of your property. When the decline to pay you, you can file a claim in small claims court where you can handle the case yourself and no lawyers are allowed. Or...you could write it off as a loss or a donation to the men's shelter, taking an appropriate deduction on you tax returns. Talk to an accountant about this.

Can the DA proceed in criminal charges for robbery with a dangerous weapon by just word of mouth or do they have to have physical evidence?

The D.A. can proceed with the case. Whether or not there is enough evidence for a conviction is to be seen.
