What will happen if I did not pay my fines or go to my court date?

You need to call your attorney immediately. They can send out a warrant for your arrest and revoke your probation. You can't just think this will go away.

He needs to hire an attorney. If he has limited or no prior criminal history, there may be potential resolutions that are better for him than a deferred.

In Texas, you cannot get a case expunged if there was a deferred adjudication community supervision (except for Class C misdemeanors). You may be eligible for filing a petition for non-disclosure, which will seal the case from public view, but that depends on the type of case, as does the waiting period once the deferred adjudication is complete.
