What do I do if I am a victim of Identity theft because I am being summoned to bankruptcy court ?

Answered by attorney Michael D. Siegel
Bankruptcy lawyer at Siegel & Siegel, P.C.
You must answer a summons, or you will be in default.  If you have an identity theft defense, you need to assert it in the proper way.  Do not ignore it.

Debt consolidation

Answered by attorney Michael D. Siegel
Bankruptcy lawyer at Siegel & Siegel, P.C.
Answer the summons.  Being in consolidation is not a defense.  Many of these companies are scams.  Hopefully yours is not one of them.  Report the situation to the Attorney General.

Bankruptcy lawyer at Law Office of Pho Ethan Tran, PLLC
When your monthly expenses exceed your income on schedule J, nothing really happens except it may raise the issue of how you will be able to pay any debts that you choose to reaffirm.
