Attorney Leigh Oliver improperly obtained $10,000 awarded to me by the NJ Victims of Crime Compensation Office without my consent, falsely claiming authorization despite not representing me in any domestic violence proceedings. During my TRO hearing, she expressly told the judge she was not my attorney. When I brought this to the attention of the firm’s partner, Allison Ansell, no corrective action was taken. The funds remain unreturned. It has gotten to the point where I’ve given every opportunity for this to be corrected, and the funds to be returned to the real victims, which is myself and my daughter, and it has not happened. Now I have Been forced to hire an attorney to fight for this money in court. In custody court, things only got worse. Instead of fighting for the safety and wellbeing of my child, my attorney actually said to me, “I’m scared of the judge.” That was one of the most humiliating and disheartening moments.
I feel compelled to share my experience to caution others who may be considering his services. My encounter with David J Byrne was unprofessional at best and the real estate engagement he entered into with my Parents should be considered unethical. David should be embarrassed as to how he conducted himself as should the others lawyers at his firm.
They employ or have recently employed nepo-hire Steve Ansell, a horrible person through and through. Instead of dedicating himself to learning the law, Steve chooses to publicly harass sexual assault victims and woman recovering from eating disorders. He thinks he's untouchable because of his relatives Allison, Brian and Mitchell Ansell and that's probably on them for hiring him in the first place. Save your money - go to a firm that hires based on integrity and intelligence instead of a last name.
Donna will do whatever it takes to win your case. She will fabricate whatever will sway the judge, promise jobs to young GALs, alienate children from their parents, falsify financial documents. Whatever it takes. A truly deplorable human being.
She is a corrupt inhuman person that is awaiting long overdue ethics committee discipline. I had sat on the ethics committee and pray that she finally gets disbarred. Advises her clients to keep children away from the other parent. She is a disgusting, miserable human being .
Worked with Alfred Caso who talked a good talk prior to getting the retainer. Subsequently, we had to deal with six day turnaround times for communications and no established game plan resulting in having to find new representation. Upon asking for the retainer back, we were changed $2000 for two draft emails that resulted in absolutely nothing. Talk about making a terrible situation so much worse. Suggestions -Answering emails, calls and questions within a shorter time frame. -Explain to the client know what the plan of attack is instead of meandering and charging by the second.
