My son broke his leg at the doctor's office. Should we sue?

James Peirce Kelaher
Answered by attorney James Peirce Kelaher (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Kelaher Law Offices, P.A.
If the leg heals with no sequelae, then I would say no. The cost of bringing a medical malpractice claim (and that would be a medical malpractice claim) would cost you more than you would recover from the doctor's office. Why don't you ask the doctor what they can do about it very nicely, and I'd be willing to bet he won't charge you for that visits or any future visits.

Should I press charges for assault?

No. Cool off. The cops probably won't want to get involved and if they do, then there's everything from court appearances to attorneys fees, none of which is going to make things better between you and her. Cut off all contact with her. Then, after time goes on, the two of you may realize that being sisters is more important than having arguments. And if you don't, well then at least there's no more fighting.
