How do I protect properties and myself if my alcoholic housemate hurts someone?

Answered by attorney Bernard Huff (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Bernard Huff
You should consult with a social worker and insist that your housemate seek treatment for her alcoholic problem. If she refuses, have the title to the real estate put in your name only.

What steps can I take after being mistreated after surgery, from mediation to a catheter mishap to release before ready?

Paul L. Whitfield
Answered by attorney Paul L. Whitfield (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Paul Whitfield and Associates P.A.
You have hurt feelings but do you have any real damage? You need a medical doctors opinion that anything you say that happened is negligence and that the negligence caused damage. Your anger or pique about the way you were treated may prove to be a problem for you. patients do not normally dictate levels of care or medications.

How long can I wait to file a case against a company?

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson
Personal Injury lawyer at Diana L. Anderson
It depends on the type of case.  There is something that is called the "Statute of Limitations" and it dictates the limit of time for filing a lawsuit.  It is different for different types of lawsuits, and also different if the plaintiff is a minor.   The Statute is not one single Statutes, but is a variety of different statutes. Professional malpractice  within 2 years from the date of the act or omission giving rise to the complaint, or 2 years from the date the injury was or reasonably should have been discovered.Personal Injury: 2 years.
