Is my wife liable or is the attorney for making the mistake regarding the lien against her settlement?

Paul L. Whitfield
Answered by attorney Paul L. Whitfield (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Paul Whitfield and Associates P.A.
In order for a lien to be effective there must be NOTICE of the lien. If the lawyer had notice of the lien BEFORE the funds were disbursed by him he may be liable. If you or your wife had notice of the lien and did nothing and did not inform the lawyer you are liable. It is all about notice and of course whether the lien is legal to start with.

What should I do if I am hospitalized after being jumped in a bar and is bar owner responsible?

Mark Joseph Leonardo
Answered by attorney Mark Joseph Leonardo (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Dordick Law Corporation
Hopefully you filed a police report. If not, do so immediately. If you know who battered you, you can certainly sue those individuals. I would need more facts to ascertain whether the bar is responsible in any way. The bar may have med-pay coverage in their insurance which will automatically pay for a certain amount of your medical expenses, regardless of any fault on their part. This is usually in the $5,000 to $10,000 range. You should inquire of the bar regarding that coverage. You should also get a free consultation from an attorney that handles assault and battery cases to see if there is any case against the bar.

Can you sue the organization if sponsored or at least supported by town due to favoritism?

Your question is too vague, I can't tell what you are asking. Why don't you tell us what happened instead of just asking for affirmation of your conclusions?
