To anyone looking into applying: The process of getting approved is designed to be a long, invalidating, confusing process bc the SSA is trying to get you to give up so they don’t have to pay out. Prepare for it to take years. And I wish you the best of luck. And get an attorney or they won’t take you seriously. Trust me. James’ office emailed me a summary of what the judge would be seeing the night before my hearing. They did an excellent job of weeding out my medical info from over 1500 pages of paper trail. He called after it sent to make sure I’d seen it and to reassure me we had a solid case and tell me what he knew of the judge.
