Will an expunged domestic violence case prevent me from becoming a citizen?

Answered by attorney Louis M. Piscopo
Immigration lawyer at Law Offices of Louis M. Piscopo, APLC
Yes a DV conviction can result in the denial of your citizenship, and worse could result in you losing you Green Card. The fact that it was expunged does not remove it from being a conviction for immigration purposes. Whether the DV conviction could cause you to be denied, or lead to your deportation, depends on many factors, including what the actual conviction was for, the sentence you received, when it happened and how long you have had a Green Card. You need to speak to an immigration attorney before filing fore citizenship.

Can I start a new company in US and apply for L1-A visa?

Answered by attorney Alina Cruz (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at CruzLaw PA
The short answer is yes. L visas are being highly scrutinized by USCIS and there have been problems with rejections even at large internationally known companies. You would be well advised to seek counsel to assist you with this petition. Please contact the office for an appointment.

Sister in law in syria

Answered by attorney David Troy Cox
Immigration lawyer at CoxEsq, PC
Once your husband becomes a citizen he can file for his sister, but there is a long wait to qualify for a visa number, so it will be many years before she can get an immigrant visa.  She would have the most luck if she could apply for a student visa to come to the US and study.  She would, of course, have to get admitted to a US university, but once she's admitted, they should be able to help her with the visa.
