File for adjustment. It takes about 4 months from filing to interview day. Most people are approved at the interview day. Good luck.

Only if you received your green card through marriage and have had your green card for 3 years. Otherwise you will have to wait 5 years from the date your green card was issued to become a U.S. citizen.

What should I do to maintain my f1 status on my visa?

Answered by attorney Lynne Rogers Feldman
Immigration lawyer at Feldman Feldman Associates, PC
Your question makes no sense so I need more facts. The I-485 is filed for permanent residency is this the form you mean? Has your husband's employer sponsored him for permanent residency and you are applying as a derivative? It is always best to maintain your nonimmigrant status until your permanent residency status is approved. I would at least wait until you get your work card to quit school if this is a hardship to continue but best to continue in school until your PR is approved.
