Hello, If your husband is a U.S. citizen and you entered the country legally, you should be able to receive your green card in less than the 5 years it has taken. It sounds like you have concerns about the legal service you have received from your lawyer and so I would suggest that you take important documents such as proof of U.S. citizenship, passport, receipts for the petition, etc. and consult with another attorney in your city. That way the attorney can look at all your paperwork and give you advice about the reason for the delay or whether DACA for Dreamers is an option for you. If you cannot afford an attorney there are organizations that provide low cost or pro bono assistance. You can contact your local lawyer referral group or the CA state bar for a list of such organizations. Good Luck.   Disclaimer:  The answers to frequently asked questions are based on limited information available to us.    The answer provided is of a general nature and does not establish an attorney - client relationship.  It is not, nor is it intended to be, legal advice. You should consult an attorney for specific advice regarding your individual situation.

Ownership of a U.S. business entity should not prevent you from getting an F1, so long as you can - produce the paperwork from the school you will attend, - show the means of financial support in the U.S. while you will take classes, and - show that, even though you own the LLC, it does not need you to work in it (nor do you need to work there - or anywhere else - to support yourself).
