Answered by attorney Harun Kazmi

Hello. You do not need the original, but you will need a copy to prove your lawful residency. If you have the copy, you can apply, assuming you qualify under all other conditions of naturalization.  Good Luck!

Can I still stay in the US or will I be deported?

Answered by attorney Phong Thanh Tran (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Law Office of Pho Ethan Tran, PLLC
As long as you were married within 90 days of your entry, you are still eligible to apply for adjustment of status at a later time even if your visa or authorized stay has expired. However, until your application has been submitted, you will be considered out of status and subject to arrest and deportation.

If he renews the visa, you can always marry in the US. Just wait a couple of months and do the marriage proposal yourself. His intention to visit should be genuine.
