What would happen next after I filed my status adjustment request with an immigration?

Fakhrudeen Hussain

If you brother files for you, it takes a minimum of 10 years before you are eligible to adjust status. You can only adjust if you maintain your status in the US. Your brother petitioning for you does not give you the eligibility to be in status, you will have to find other means to renew your permit or apply for an H1b visa, etc.

How much money does it take to file for my mother?

You need to show a tax return that indicates enough money to support her until she becomes a citizen. The amount depends on how many children you have. If it is just you, about $15,000 per year will be enough. If you have only just begun employment, a letter from your employer stating your earnings will suffice.

How can I find out if my ex wife petitioned for her citizenship without my permission?

Pablo Husayn Nossa
Answered by attorney Pablo Husayn Nossa (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Nossa Law Office, P.C.
First off, your ex-wife does not need your permission to file for citizenship. If your ex-wife has been a permanent resident for 5 years then she can file for naturalization without you.
