What happens after being convicted?

Answered by attorney Cindy Mannon (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Cindy Mannon, Attorney at Law
It depends on the Judge. Probation along with AA will probably happen. You could be forced to attend out patient counseling, which is about 3 hours a session for several months. Your license to drive is suspended for 45 days, then you can drive with an interlock device in your auto, at your expense, however, only to work, school, probation, treatment AA. No going shopping or to the grocery store, unless you go to perhaps a Meijer to get gas, leave your car by the gas station and walk over to Meijer. You won't be able to drink while on probation, or take any illegal drugs. If you have a medical marijuana card, some Judges may allow you to continue your medication, others do not.

Is do I have to have a license to finance the vehicle or does the Department of Motor Vehicle stand correct?

Answered by attorney Terry Alan Nelson (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Nelson & Lawless
Your question is garbled. No, you don't have to have a license to buy or finance a vehicle, unless the bank demands it. If ordered to have an IID, that means in any registerable vehicle you DRIVE, from semi to golf cart and ATV. You can own a collection of vehicles without IID, as long as you don't drive them. Get caught operating a vehicle without IID, go to jail. If you don't have a license, you can't drive unless and until you comply with all requirements imposed by the court or DMV to get it re-issued.

Do I only get 1 diversion my whole life, if so should I use it on this MIC?

DUI/DWI lawyer at Derek L. Hall, PLLC
You should consult with an attorney who is familiar with DUI's and how to defend them. If your reading was "very low" you may want to consider challenging the test result. Sure you can get a non-adjudication, which may benefit you, but you should look at all options before making such a decision.
