How do I expunge my DUI?

Answered by attorney Laurie A. Schmidt
DUI/DWI lawyer at 5280 Law Group
In Colorado, you may NEVER expunge or seal a DUI, it is on your criminal record permanently. The different between sealing and expunge is that sealing is blocking it from public view, but the record still exists. Expungement can mean that the record is permanently deleted.

How do Get my drivers license reinstated in the state of Michigan?

John W. Havins
Answered by attorney John W. Havins (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Havins & Associates, PC
You asked: How do Get my drivers license reinstated in the state of Michigan?Additional Details:I have 3 D.U.I. convictions in a little over ten years ranging from 1995-2005. My 5 year revocation was up in November of 2010. I have been sober since 2007 but I have been hearing that I may need signatures from my meetings and I haven't had sheets signed since I was released from probation in late 2008, Is there anything I can do? I finally got a very good job this week and it is going to be very hard for my wife to get me to and from. Thank you for your time. You will need to file a Petition for REinstatement with the Driver's License Appeal Division / Driver's Assessment & Appeal Division (DLAD / DAAD): (O) 517.335.1442.  While I recommend that you have an attorney, you could represent yourself.  If you choose to represent yourself, you should call DLAD / DAAD.  They will send you a packet with instructions.  You will need to get an updated Substance Abuse Assessment.  YOu will need letters from several people attesting to the fact that you have not had a drink for more than one year.  You are able to present witnesses.  Witnesses should be able to testify how they know you, that they would know if you were drinking, and the last time they were aware that you were drinking.  If you have an AA sponsor, consider calling him/her as a witness.  The Hearings Officer often attempts to find inconsistencies in your testimony, the testimony of witnesses, letters, and the Assessment.  Stu Shafer

How can I transfer a DUI case to another state?

J Matthew Catchick
Answered by attorney J Matthew Catchick (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Catchick Law, P.C.
If you have already been sentenced for the DUI, and you want to transfer your Probation to the new state, call your Probation Officer and ask about their Court's particular procedures for transferring the case to the new state. You may want to also call the applicable Court of the new state where you are moving to, and ask if they accept out-of-state probation transfers.
