How do one find out about how long the jail time is for first time DUI?

Answered by attorney Terry Alan Nelson (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Nelson & Lawless
You can contact the jail to learn his proposed release date. Being terrified of jail is useful, and should make him avoid committing future crimes. That is the theory of deterrence.

California can't renew my license until Massachusetts releases their hold what can we do?

Answered by attorney Evan Ephraim Zelig
DUI/DWI lawyer at Law Offices of Evan E. Zelig, P.C.
In situations where your CA license is on hold or suspended because of an action taken by another state, the best way (and typically the only way) to resolve the situation in California is to do whatever is necessary in the other state so that the hold or suspension in the other state is released. If you have an out-of-state DUI offense you will be required to resolve that matter in the other state before CA DMV will allow you to get a license.

Can I avoid doing DUI class by just waiting 7, 10 or 15 years before trying to get my license back?

Answered by attorney Edward Jerome Blum (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Law Office of Edward J. Blum
No. DMV will not give you your license back until you complete class. You have a warrant. If you get stopped by the cops, you will get cited or arrested. If you are not a citizen, in the current climate this could cause you serious immigration problems.
