Can I get in trouble for adultery in Florida?

Robert Joseph Merlin
Answered by attorney Robert Joseph Merlin (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Robert J. Merlin, P.A.
While adultery is technically illegal in Florida, it should not have an effect on anything because this is a no-fault state. You can file for divorce as long as you have been a resident of Florida for at least 6 months.

You have to have been a resident of Florida for six months. Adultery under these circumstances will probably not get you in trouble, except with the husband, and only if you are seeking alimony and have wasted marital assets away on the lover.

Can I get rid of back child support in order to get a divorce?

Answered by attorney Ronnie Ismael Vargas (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Velez, Moreno & Vargas, LLC
You can voluntarily have the child support arrears owed to you set at zero. You should contact the child support agency in the county where the child support order has been issued for more information as to how to accomplish that.
