You need to file a motion to have the case transferred to the new state. You can file for emergency relief and the new court will take judicial notice of your divorce decree.

If you received the originals back, the default has not been entered. Try again. If you mean you received conformed and filed copies of the request to enter default from the court, then contact the court with a request to set the matter for a default prove up hearing to get your divorce and property division completed.

Do I have to start over with the separation in order to get a divorce ASAP?

Rebecca A Rainwater
Answered by attorney Rebecca A Rainwater (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Landon Rainwater Robinson LLP
Do you have a legal separation, meaning you have a judgment entered? If yes, you now would need to file for termination of status. If nothing has been done in the courts you will need to file for divorce. If you are both in total agreement file an uncontested divorce you both sign off and your done. However, the date when status terminates will be six months and 1 day from when your spouse was served. If you plan to do this yourself, visit the court facilitator's office for help.
