What am I entitled to on a divorce?

Answered by attorney Kevin Wayne Bruning (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Bruning & Associates, P.C.
There is a presumptive 50/50 split in Illinois, though you should discuss with an attorney any extenuating circumstances that may entitle you to a different amount depending on contributions to the marriage.

Can my divorce attorney charge me a second retainer fee, after two years because my payment was late at times?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Loren Paul Zahn (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Zahn Law Office
The attorney is asking you to pay off your bill, plus pay an advance towards work to be done. There is nothing wrong with that, so long as the agreement you executed when you first retained the attorney says that they are allowed to request a retainer replenishment.

Does my daughter has to return the engagement ring back to her fiance?

Answered by attorney Anne Barbara Howard (Unclaimed Profile)

An engagement ring is a gift. It's hers. Traditionally if she broke it off, she'd return it. However, if he breaks it off, she'd keep it.
