How much of his IRA am I entitled to?

Answered by attorney Joanna Marie Mitchell (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Joanna Mitchell & Associates, P.A.
If you are in Florida, then you are entitled to one half of whatever was contributed during the marriage. You will need to find out what the balance was on the date of marriage and the balance on the date the divorce is filed. That is the marital portion that is subject to equitable distribution. However, before agreeing to anything or signing anything, you should consult with an attorney.

How can I speed up the process once both parties have signed the final decree?

Divorce lawyer at The Law Firm of Jessica M. Cotter, P.L.L.C.
Generally speaking once a consent decree is signed it can be delivered to, or "lodged", with the judge assigned to the case, who will usually sign with a few days. However, a judge may not sign a decree of dissolution until about 64 days after the service, or acceptance of service, of a petition, or the filing of an answer by a respondent who has not been officially served but has responded nonetheless. Is there a hearing set? You would be well served to at least consult with an experienced family law attorney to review the status of your matter.

IT probably doesn't really matter much it at all. Just do what you think is right when you wish to do it.
