How long will alimony last?

Answered by attorney Richard Eric Anthony Dwyer
Divorce lawyer at Richard E.A. Dwyer, Esq
You should go back into Court. Temporary support is discretionary. Support post-judgment would be governed by the terms of the judgment.

If I'm ordered to pay 1/3 of a bill and my ex estimated the total of the bill in the divorce, do I pay 1/3 or the amount?

Confusing numbers. You would be required by court order to pay 1/3 of the actual bill if there is no specific amount referenced in the order.

Can I get a copy of a Qualified DRO at the clerks office?

George Nebbie Seide
Answered by attorney George Nebbie Seide (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Shulman Family Law Group
The response to your question is being given as a courtesy, without knowledge of all the facts, some of which may change the answer. My answer herein does not establish an attorney client relationship with you. This only may be accomplished through a written agreement. You need to secure the file from the Court's file room and ask for a copy of the QDRO, which was signed and entered by the Judge. Hopefully, the initial QDRO was delivered to plan administrator for approval and then to the Court for execution and entry. If not, but the plan administrator approved the QDRO, deliver it to the proper Department/Judge for signature and return to you. Provide a self-addressed postage paid envelope for its return to you. Let the clerk know the urgency of the need for signature.
