In calif. do I have to show proof of divorce if it was final more than a yr prior to new marriage?

It is unclear what you mean when you say that you are in the process of a divorce and also that the divorce was 2 years ago.  If you are not legally divorced, you cannot be remarried. What proof you have to provide of a prior divorce varies from county to county, so you will have to check with the county clerk in the county where you will be filing your marriage license.

If your divorce case was dismissed, you will probably just have to file a new one now with a new filing fee of $445.00 in California.
