What do I do if I am being sued by a contractor?

Answered by attorney Jonathan A. Baner (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Baner and Baner Law Firm
Unfortuntely it is very difficult to give you an answer. In what capacity are you being sued? As a subcontractor/vendor/homeowner? A business/construction attorney (e.g. ME! *smiles*), as a spouse/parent? Family law attorney. Are you being accused of some sort of criminal conduct (i.e. the state is actually the pressing the case)? Then you're looking for a criminal defense attorney. It isn't really easy to say without knowing the capacity in which you are being sued.

What will happen to my minor son if he gets pulled over for speeding and drugs?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
Hire an attorney. He is way too young to have that follow him for the rest of his life. You need to get the paraphernalia dismissed or sealed after deferred adjudication. Hire an aggressive drug trial lawyer in your area.

Can a foreigner with DWI charges leave the country?

Cynthia Russell Henley
Answered by attorney Cynthia Russell Henley (Unclaimed Profile)

The best way to handle this is to get your lawyer to file a motion to travel and have the judge sign an order. The original goes on file in the clerk's file and the client takes a certified copy with him in the event he is stopped coming back into the country. You might want to provide a copy to the consulate for the defendant's country, too. (I had a client recently travel to China and back with felony injury to a child charges pending. We had gotten such an order. He had no problems going out or coming in, but we had the order on file in the event there were a problem.)
