Answered by attorney Robert W. Eutsler (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Eutsler Law Firm
Shoplifting, even a Class C under $50, is not something you should undertake on your own. One slip and you will be convicted of a crime of moral turpitude (stealing).

Should we request a warrant for detectives to collect evidence?

Cynthia Russell Henley
Answered by attorney Cynthia Russell Henley (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Cynthia Henley
I would request a warrant, or at a minimum, a written letter from your relative. Moreover, realize that if you turn anything over to anyone then you are essentially providing your statement that the computer belongs to your relative.
