How many years will I get if I took a lady's purse but didn't hurt her?

Answered by attorney Lawrence Thomas Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
Get months and think years. You committed a robbery by sudden snatch. The purse was taken from her immediate presence, so it is robbery. In GA you are facing 1-20 years. First offense, with no other criminal history (not other robberies, no criminal history), you are looking at three years in prison. Ten to serve three years in prison. IF you go to court talking stupid about how will they prove it is her money, when it is in your pocket along with her card, you may be looking at ten years after trial.

Why is it being brought up by Arlington City and with the many background checks I got the theft charged in Texas seven years ago never raised a flag?

Answered by attorney Matthew David Sharp
Criminal Law lawyer at The Law Office of Matthew D. Sharp
If your theft case resulted in a conviction then it will always be there. If it was dismissed you may be able to have it expunged.

Is what happend legal for them to do or can I acctually fight this?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
You need to lawyer up and do not talk to them again. Your lawyer will talk to them. Absolutely, so do not return their calls or communicate with the police.
