Your question requires an attorney consultation. It is not a simple question that can be answered on this type of forum. There are many factors that would need to be considered and evaluated. I strongly suggest that you contact an experienced immigration defense attorney for a face-to-face consultation and give him/her all of the facts surrounding your boyfriend's situation. (S)he would then be in a better position to analyze your boyfriend's case and advise you of your options.

Don't know the facts of the case, but deportation for life seems to answer your question. If he was deported for life, it sounds like his criminal history is pretty extreme. Getting married in an attempt to circumvent the laws will not work. I suggest that you retain the services of an immigration attorney who might be better able to address your issues.

There are many factors that determine a person's sentence. Particularly: the facts of the case, prior history of criminal activity, was any one hurt during the commission of the crime. I would need more facts to make that determination.
