What can we do if my son was arrested at a class that was part of his probation?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Lawrence Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
They have ruined his life! Why was he on probation? Did he take the original case to trial? Did he insist that the judge give him his time in prison time, not probation time. Nah...none of that happened. He was charged with a crime. He took a plea deal to probation. Then he could not keep up with probation, because he really didn't take the whole thing serious, or not serious enough to see it through to completion. Everything is a money racket. You need money to go to college. You need money to buy a house is a good neighborhood. You need money to get your hair done. But at the hairdresser, no one is talking money racket. It is simple now. You will either retain an attorney, or not.

What are the consequences if my friend was caught with drugs?

Mark A. Broughton
Answered by attorney Mark A. Broughton (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Mark A. Broughton, PC
The legal consequences are probably up to 3 years in custody, but this maximum sentence is not likely to occur - at least initially. He will probably be given the opportunity for drug treatment. The real consequences are physical, mental, and emotional to say nothing of the damage to loved ones caused by drug use. Your friend is so young. I hope he/she gets the help he needs and turns his/her life around before it's too late.
