What are the repercussions of falsifying a police report?

Answered by attorney Lawrence Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
You lied to the police, which is a misdemeanor. IF your employment can stand a misdemeanor conviction, then you should be fine. While you are on probation you will not be able to leave the state to gamble at the casino which may be a good thing.

Is this a case of civilian entrapment and how do I find out if there is anything I can do to fight this?

Criminal Law lawyer at Musilli Brennan Associates, PLLC
It would appear to me that if you have pled guilty you have also relinquished many of your additional or possible appeal rights. Generally, entrapment by a civilian, not the government, is not much of a defense at all.

Should I tell the officer who contacts me that the details of the allegations are false, or should I just let my attorney handle it?

Answered by attorney Steven Fairlie
Criminal Law lawyer at Fairlie & Lippy, P.C.
Let your attorney handle it. It is a major mistake to talk with the police unless your attorney has advised that. You may have some great defenses here, such as if you were living there then you may be a tenant whom he would have to evict. Thus, you may have had a legal right to enter the premises.
