Is it possible to transfer probation from one state to another?

Jared Clayton Austin
Answered by attorney Jared Clayton Austin (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Austin Legal Services, PLC
It is possible and it does happen. Make sure the judge is aware of this before sentencing you or placing you on probation so arrangements can be made to transfer your probation to Florida. Usually there is no problem with this as long as neither party objects. They can also keep you on probation in Michigan and still allow you to live in Florida as a special condition of your probation. Sometimes they will do that and have you report by phone.

What can I do if I am accused of theft in the workplace?

I would retain an attorney to write him a letter demanding that he offer proof that you stole from him. On the surface it sounds like he is shaking you down for money which puts the criminal activity on him, not you.

Do police have to have a warrant clearly posted to anyone in a house that is being raided or just the owner?

In the legal system, there are very well-kept records including time and date for almost everything. Therefore I would suggest your friend immediately engage an attorney to determine whether or not proper procedures and safeguards of his civil rights were allowed him. In the meantime he should not talk to anyone, most certainly the authorities, until he has received counsel.
