If I am not guilty of a state jail felony drug charge and am offered drug court what do I do?

Advise is the same that you have been offered on other forums. Listen to your trial lawyer or if you are not satisfied with that lawyer (which I would not be if that lawyer was telling me to plead guilty if I were not guilty UNLESS the lawyer could outline the reasons to plead guilty v. go to trial and take a chance on getting prison time). No lawyer on any of these help sites can tell you what to do without having reviewed your entire case - all the evidence, talked to the witnesses, etc.

Do I need a lawyer for a first time offense?

Answered by attorney Patrick Short
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Firm of Patrick Short
Please get a lawyer and do not do this yourself.  Theft is a crime of moral turpitude.  Depending on the circumstances an attorney might be able to work out a dismissal of your offense or another favorable alternative.  Don't do this alone.

How can I help my boyfriend get a aggrevated assult case dismissed against me?

Based on what you wrote, it appears you are the listed complainant. What you can do to help him is hire the best attorney you can afford to hire. Additionally, you are free to call or go the DA's office, and try to explain it to them. But, beware: if you do not have a complete understanding of the law as it relates to assault, you may do more harm than good by speaking to the DA's office. In my experience, complainant's who try to talk the DA in to dismissing an already-accepted charge are often manipulated into confirming the allegations, which will undermine your attempt to get the case dismissed. So, like I said, you need to be very careful. If you want to be safe and smart, help him find a good lawyer, and the three of you can discuss the facts of the case, the law, and the best way to proceed, in light of all three.
