How do I get a lien removed from my vehicle?

Answered by attorney Sharon M. Siegel
Bankruptcy lawyer at Siegel & Siegel, P.C.
Run a Carfax report to see who has the title and lien. If not you, which I suspect, you are going to have to bring a special kind of lawsuit to establish your ownership.

Can my wife co-sign for a used vehicle for me if she is in bankruptcy?

How bad is your credit that you need someone who's in bankruptcy as a cosigner? That's like asking for handouts from a guy sleeping under a bridge. Maybe you should skip getting a new car for now, sounds like going further in debt is the last thing you need. But to answer your lame question. If your wife is in Chapter 7, she can cosign; if she's in Chapter 13, she can't.

What do we need to do to qualify for bankruptcy?

Your question can't be answered without knowing the numbers. Equity, loan balances and fair market values. With two incomes and a military retirement, your income could be an issue. If you do a Ch13, you may be able to keep both properties and get control of your finances. I suggest you seek multiple opinions about what to do.
