If my husband has a judgement against him for default on auto loans, can they put a lien on our house if we bought it before we were married?

Yes. Usually the creditor will record an abstract judgment in the county, which attached to any and all property owned by the debtor in that county.

How Can I stop a Credit Card Lawsuit from Chase?

Consider filing a chapter 7 bankruptcy. If you qualify for a chapter 7 bankruptcy and file the bankruptcy before your Chase court date, the matter will be stayed which means that you will not be required to appear in court for the Chase case. Upon the successful completion of your bankruptcy, all unsecured debts will be discharged.

What exemption law to cite for my property if I’m in schedule C?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Dorothy G. Bunce (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at A Fresh Start
In most states, exemptions are created under state laws, so you will need to cite to the exact state law that applies to the type of property you want to protect. There are far too many sections of the law to list them all in Nevada, but you can start by looking at NRS 21.090(1) which contains sections from a - z and aa - kk.
