Can the creditors still contact me during bankruptcy?

Cary Sawyer Smalley

No. Upon filing bankruptcy an automatic stay is put in place which prevents creditors from attempting to collect the debts.

How soon can a person file another chapter 13 if they were released in 2011?

By released do you mean discharged? You have to wait at least two years between Chapter 13 filings (I presume you want to file a 13 if your goal is to save the house). In that case depending on when the old case was filed you may be eligible again. But you should check with an attorney in person.

Do I become responsible for debt of my girlfriend when I marry her if she has a debt from her previous marriage. Do I need legal protection?

Jonathan Seth Leiderman
Answered by attorney Jonathan Seth Leiderman (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Leiderman Shelomith Somodevilla, PLLC
You do not become responsible for your girlfriend's debt when you marry her if she has debt from her previous marriage.  She is responsible for her debt, and you are responsible for your debt.  If you jointly incur new debt after you get married, you will both be responsible for that debt.  Unless one of your girlfiend's creditors is suing you to try to collect her debt, it does not appear that you need any legal protection.
