Talk to your bankruptcy attorney. If you did not have one then you should talk to an attorney in the state where you live. Your state law will dictate if NSF checks have a criminal component.

How would I know if I needed to file for bankruptcy?

Answered by attorney Stuart M. Nachbar
Bankruptcy lawyer at Law Office of Stuart M. Nachbar, P.C.
I have already responded to this question. I stated that it depends on whose name the house is in by the deed. Without that, it will be difficult to advise. Also, if in your name, a value of the house and value of mortgage would be helpful. Please speak with a bankruptcy attorney in your jurisdiction.
