If I could give zero stars I would. I thought they were wonderful at first, then I found out they only care about your money. I paid them basically to read paperwork. I did all the leg work, they didn't disperse the paperwork like they were supposed to do I DID IT. 95% of my money went to them reading papers. Then the lawyer I had incorrectly filed paperwork with the court got in trouble by the judge and the same week she left the practice. The managing lawyer who took over was rude, didn't care about my case and wasted two court hearings lying to the judge saying she wanted to learn because she doesn't know family law to filing a motion to be dismissed full of lies. When confronted about her lies she stopped communicating NOT even the judge was thrilled with her and her nonsense. This left me homeless with a newborn and she could care less. DISGUSTING LAW FIRM AND LAWYERS!!!

Honestly, they caused more trauma than the entirety of my abusive relationship and divorce. Filed in March ‘22 (SAHM to 2 toddlers, ex husband completely abandoned us and all financial responsibility)- was advised COUNTLESS times not to file with DSS for child support myself because it was their top priority. It took until a court hearing (that I didn’t even SEE the judge) in AUGUST to get any support. What should have been an open and shut case dragged on over a year, through THREE lawyers (first one assigned just up and “left the firm” 24 hours before a hearing, second retired with no warning, 3rd is a managing partner who is as useful as a dud appendix). I was left with a mountain of debt and had to give up EVERYTHING I should have been legally provided just to get it over with. Truly I think they were in bed with my ex’s law firm and the judge. Sick, sick people.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! This place only cares about money not their clients! Paperwork wasn't filed, I was lied to, not kept up to date on my case and spent a ton of money in the process. When going through any event needing a lawyer it is stressful enough and these are not the lawyers u want representing your best interests.

Law firm said it would be $250/ht on intake, but he charged $395/hr..later found out the retainer they rushed me into signing had a cost ranging from $250-$450/hr! 1st meeting, showed up to court unshaven, no suit, etc. Talked only about my guilt based only on 1 thing while absolutely ignoring 2 other elements in the law (which are important in the statute and court cases associated with it). $395/hr and spread out over much "negotiations with other party. This was only a "violation "!!! He "negotiated her payment of a $1500 debt she still owed, at the cost to me (for his services to me) of $1700 charge to me. This alone should tell all, he doesn't act in the best interest of client. At the end, when I gave him a thumbs down when the judge asked me, I had the distinct impression he had given me a veiled threat for doing this. DO NOT HITE THIS MAN as you'll regret it.

Waste of time and money. Legal extortion at its finest. After two years and thousands of dollars I am no further ahead with my divorce than day one.

Colwell Law and the attorney they gave me to represent in a divorce case Erica Waters, was incompetant, highly unethical and a liar. After she received $10,000 from me, she did not look out for my best interest and caused me to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars and left me and 3 children in poverty. Once judge signed divorce paper, she refused to accept my calls or answer emails about post divorce matters unless I gave her another $4000! RUN, DONT WALK,FROM COLWELL LAW AND ERICA WATERS!!

Be aware - your consultation is NOT with an attorney but rather with administrative staff that gives a persuasive speech and rushes you to sign a client contract. Read the fine print of that contract - especially each line of the credit card authorization page! Pay attention to the client reviews of this site, NOT the peer reviews as it is just employees of that firm making the review.

Do NOT use these guys, the only communications you will get are from their billing department asking for more money!!! Best of all they will bill you for asking the same questions 3 or 4 times, You've been warned.

Complete rip off. attorneys don't explain the process and put you in the dark. Don't communicate for months which makes you call for a status update for which they charge an hour's time under communication. Make spelling and billing errors and make you pay for it. Costs time and money. Extremely frustrating experience with the most simplest case. Done with case 2 months ago and still paying for their billing errors and the time they put in to correct them. Even thank you letters are charged.
